A Book Unread
A Book Unread
By LeBron Keener
A pale yellow light, a page in an open book,
Awaiting its reader, alone on the bed,
Halfway read upon the fresh satin coverlet,
Newly found romance in the pages ahead
A romantic tale, cavalier and lady faire,
Safe in his caress, alone nevermore,
The book was laid down partially read,
Forgotten by the reader of yore
Ne’er read was the end, the book’s final words,
Of chivalry, prosperity and love,
The wind softly blows and turns pages unread,
Like invisible white satin gloves
Upon another time, its reader will return,
The rest of the story, to read whilst in bed,
But the page that they left got lost in the wind,
And the romance will never be read
