A Break In the Cloud
A BREAK IN THE CLOUDS
As I walked out one winter day,
I shivered in the ice and snow,
My spirits at an all-time low
December skies were dark and grey,
Reflecting how I felt inside;
The deep despair I could not hide.
I viewed the future with dismay.
All I could see was endless night,
A tunnel with no end in sight.
But then, a vision came my way,
Through the trees as if the sun
Had fought against the clouds and won
You walked toward me bright and gay.
I had not seen you in a while,
Forgot your captivating smile
Then all my heartache flew away.
You talked me from my private hell.
Once more you had me in your spell.
Now we are marrying in May.
Family and friends attending
Tell us it’s the perfect ending
So summer days are here to stay.
The skies are permanently blue.
I owe my happiness to you
As I walked out one winter day,
December skies were dark and grey,
I viewed the future with dismay.
But then, a vision came my way,
You walked toward me bright and gay.
Then all my heartache flew away
Now we are marrying in May
So summer days are here to stay.
