A Canary In Life 's Mine
A Canary in Life ('s) Mine
She's a canary in life('s) mine I've learned I want to keep close by.
Her song's my gold! Its tones gold feathered barbs that pierce the heart of shadows
(that can cover bones of ghosts) false fear would salt where truth is sought.
How could I keep this bird in cage? Her life's a treasure that's not bought!
I'd leave her free to serve herself (be her canary), have love's windows
be an exit for us both if God so wills (or let me die)!
Not all that glitters proves of worth, but truth's more meaningful refined.
A rose will always be a rose, but 'pig in poke' one buy's their blunder.
Seeds we plant may sprout some weeds, but love's deception stays a crime!
This life's a journey I would share if there's a choice (and love's divined
that might be mine). My pick hangs poised to find its arc, to mine truth's wonder.
Love is worth the joy we give it, pain can't taint what's born sublime.
