A Declaration of Love
Madam, I wrote you a poem
of honest words, true love declared.
When I saw you that noon I fell,
for your beauty beyond compare.
Name not one man who desires you.
I pray, dear, for your affection.
I would give all, borrow, or rob
for your grace in sheer perfection.
Then dream upon your auborn hair,
you outshine the moon, sun and stars.
All creatures from lions to lambs
gently admire you from afar.
A summer sky filled with sunshine
could not compare to you, my love.
A kiss from you, better than wine,
to embrace you would be divine.
