A Gem
Once upon a time
you came
upon a gem
with it's lustrous
shape and brilliant appearance.
It took awhile
until you understood
it's true worth
because it was someone
near and dear to you.
It's magnificence grew
as time progressed.
It exhibited
characteristics that were
unsurpassed
as it lay
amongst the ordinary.
When you gazed on it
you were
mesmerized with wonder
and you smiled
as you realized
it was real
and happening
in the now.
