A Ghostly Tale
A little church with worn old pews
But one is worn in three spots for clues
Its said to be haunted and souls still roam
Stories of forbidden love and broken homes
The souls of those now long past
the imprint of lives that did not last
the stories of those who dwell within
with ghostly tails of lives with sin
for in that church the lust did flow
not only to church did the pastor go
for the story's told he had a love
forbidden by God from up above
but she turned away and told him farewell
this love would surely send them to hell
a heart so broken he could not bare
he took his life in a way unfair
he hung him self from the beam that day
to tell his love who turned away
His loneliness too much to take
he would be gone before she wake
the church bells rang with no one there
as a cry of pain no man could not bare
so to this day the pews are marked
with the imprint of love found there in the dark
If you go to see, there you will find
a pew with three imprints now left behind
For her and her husband sat there for years
While the preacher preached and she shed tears
Those around her thought for the message she wept
But the tears did flow for the bed she slept
He preached, but longed to sit by her side
And hold her close where their love abide
And to this day the imprint of their lives
is forever embedded on that pew of lies.
