A Hundred Reasons, But Only One You

You were a stranger, just a name,
Yet now my heart is not the same.
Through fights and laughs, through highs and lows,
You are the one my heartbeat knows.

I never asked for much in life,
But found in you both joy and strife.
For every tear, there’s twice the grace,
For every loss, your warm embrace.

A hundred reasons why I care,
Yet one alone I cannot bear—
The thought of life without your light,
A sky without its stars at night.

You make me laugh, you make me whole,
You calm the storm within my soul.
Each little glance, each word you say,
Turns every dark cloud bright with day.

I run to you in joy or pain,
Like sunshine follows after rain.
Your voice, my refuge, soft and true,
The only place I’m seen right through.

But deep inside, a whisper stays,
A fear that never fades away—
What if one day, you walk, you leave?
What if it’s only me who grieves?

I try to act like I’m okay,
Ignore the hurt, push it away.
But silence only makes it clear—
I need you more than I can bear.

Possessive? Maybe. Call it so.
I just can't stand to let you go.
Not just for now, not for a while,
But every breath, each tear, each smile.

If I am selfish, let it be,
For all I want is you with me.
Not fate, not time, not love’s cruel test—
Just you, forever, nothing less.
