A kiss is like the first lick of an ice cream cone. A kiss won’t let you forget to pick up the phone. A kiss is the reason I wrote this poem. A kiss never takes to long. A kiss will say you can sing this song A kiss will have you feeling like you can do no wrong. A kiss will have an excited man go out and buy a ring. A kiss will make a woman’s soul begin to sing. It’s the beginning of what we have in store. A kiss has a way asking please, may I have one more. Now with a kiss we put the kids to bed, bring a glass of water, and lock the bedroom door. And yet a kiss means so much more. A kiss will make a shy teenager bold enough to brag. A kiss is like eating the first potato chip out of the bag. A kiss for some, is like a cigarette’s first satisfying drag. With a hug and last kiss we cry and say our good byes. Telling little white lies, watching a loved one walk out going to work or to war. Hoping when they come back, we won’t have to say goodbye any more. A kiss will say I’m glad you made it home. A kiss is the reason I wrote this poem.
