A Love Poem
Tis but a simple kiss, I seek
To release my heart of sorrow
A mere token of affection
My purpose, on tomorrow
Enchanted by your radiant beauty
I dare not peer too long
Your smile, beckons my glances
A weakened soul, once strong
Your eyes reflect the envious moon
Who turns her stare away
Alas, she knows, she can't compete
And gives passage, to the day
I know not where or whence you came
The vision of a thousand dreams
Your voice, a cool refreshing drink
That flows from a thousand streams
Your hair, the touch of fine spun silk
Woven on Heaven's loom
You hold my senses hostage
With the smell of your perfume
Even your presence, makes time stand still
Rejecting the coming day
Your beauty demands attention
That leads weak hearts astray
If ever I'm granted a single wish
I dare not wish in vain
My breath would wish for the wisdom
That my heart cannot explain
Tis this I know for certain
You're a gift from Heaven's door
I'll love you til the day I die
Then, forever more
Written for my wife's birthday
