A Love Poem's Goodbye
I shall miss the poetry
hiding in your smile,
or the way your hand
fit once, inside of mine.
In bitterness my heart turns
against me, longing to feel
again the beat of yours;
one, two, in time.
A summer romance
as they all say, it seems
never stand the test of time
no matter the hopes we place.
I am forever in debt
to the wonder and love
you shared with me
those summer nights.
The agony, in hopes, will pass,
but, with tenderness will I
look upon the memories
we have here shared.
I shall miss the beauty
of your eyes, and the wonder
of your kiss. Those nights under the stars;
goodbye, my love, goodbye.
