A Love That Endures
A Love That Endures
By Elton Camp
In their teenage years, the two were wed
And both really meant the vows they said
Love proved easy when young and strong
Each felt the other could do nothing wrong
He was handsome & stood completely erect
She had no wrinkles that he could detect
Carnal passion greatly added to their joy
And produced two girls and later, a boy
The children though, too soon, moved away
Always together, did the aging couple stay
It’s true that problems in life did each find
But to divorce never entered either’s mind
And when sex mattered to the couple no more
They loved in an even deeper way than before
Both of them are now old, feeble and gray
They help each other move along the way
They tread together, to the end, hand-in-hand
With a love that remains so precious and grand
