A Lovely Day For a Tea Party
Instead of hate, please pass the scones
There is no need for guns and drones
A tablecloth of white and pink
Is better than a shroud, I think
With saucers of a china blue
To hold our cups of loving brew
No need they match in color style
For beauty knows them all the while
The petit fours in rainbowed squares
Reflect the world of one who cares
Where differences are meant to be
To live and love all truly free
Why must this be a sugared dream
Somewhere inside us, it would seem
That common sense and goodness dwell
To seek of heaven, not of hell
It’s a lovely day for a tea party
