A Lover's Moon
Milky, opalescent orb riding high
cloaked in inky black velvet
studded with a thousand glittering sequins.
Through the glass, silver beams
dance on skin, translucent,
lovers entwined, whispering,
world’s demands barred.
Nothing matters, just this moment,
time stills.
Silvery fingers reach through the blackness,
rosy glow spreading slowly, shadows flitting.
Below, sprinkled with diamonds,
light of night now fading, slow descent.
Lovers shiver, cling more closely, dreading
the moment when the moon bows out,
time to say goodbye.
