A Magic Trance

Yesterday's memories collect to reignite passion's flame. And yet, those shadows of regret morph into nightmares seeking blame. He up and left, deaf to your plea; something your heart did not expect. For blind to what your heart couldn't see; betrayal was hard to accept. Sifting through the ashes of hate; love's abandoned to phantom fears. And innocence bemoans its fate amidst anguish and silent tears. Blue velvet skies were wishful lies, taunting a lonely, tortured soul. When the fantasy ends, love dies, and a broken heart pays the toll. But hope invokes a magic trance; whereas past mistakes get erased. And granting love another chance; yesterday's players get replaced.
