A Pillow Heart
A pillow heart, heart shaped
Soft and squishy, a love trapped
Red, fully red, warmly wrapped
She received as a gift from him, a valentine mark
A pillow meaning to her more like a guard
For her young heart, she loved
During the hurtful rust
She loved even when fully coved by dust
She loved him from dawn to dusk
She had more questions but she couldn't ask
Her first love so she had given all her trust
And it continued to bleed
It continued to soak with her tears but she couldn't be freed
He hurt her more with thorns and weed
She shrunk even more as seconds became weeks
But she tried to show softness yet her life was so bleak
A valentine gift was an overflowing cup of greed
He took and shook her, satisfying his own breed
And as he continued to rest his ever growing head on her every peak
The dimmer her eyes got, the weaker were her peaks
