A Rainbow Kite In a Tree
I lose track of my heart some days.
A rainbow kite in a tree.
Snagged and sculpted in time.
Obscured by twigs and leaves.
It hardly seems to move.
Pumps the blood and does it's stuff.
Left to it's own devices.
Sometimes it's not enough.
Then there is you.
Love and laughter and smiles.
Untangling me and leading me home.
Holding the string for miles.
My heart belongs with you.
Swooping cerulean skies.
Free and yet tied to your hands.
Liberated to fly, oh to fly.
