A Renaissance of Love
I spend days thinking of you my amour
And nights dreaming of you my dear
Your smiling image is stuck in my eyes
And your voice is buzzing in my ears
It’s fascinating after so many years
I still reminisce of your sweet apple pies
When you used to spoon-feed me
And wipe my lips with kisses of honey.
I tried to forget you, to move on
I tried to erase the past from my mind
To adjust to a novel life and to go on
Like a myopic imbecile, I failed to find
Justifiable reasons to flee like a third rated coward
In the past, I may have been haphazardly right
Winning no tangible reward
And you, at times, wrong. When lovers fight
At the end, both become losers. Oh! Lord
It doesn’t matter who’s correct or incorrect
When a couple is in love. No union is perfect
This is a new day; I hope that we’ll be in agreement
So you and I can write a brand new will or testament
By giving ourselves a new opportunity
A new chance to be together for eternity.
You live in my heart. You’re always in my mind
I pray that you’re are more mature now and kind
And with the help of the Almighty, I’ll be more tolerant
And you and I will be wiser with a new temperament
I spend days thinking of you my dear
And nights dreaming of you my amor
I am waiting and yearning for a response
I am thinking and dreaming of a renaissance.
