A Silent Prayer
I say a silent prayer hoping you can hear
all the things I didn’t say to you before.
Forgive me for waiting oh so long, love-
For I am but a woman who longs to hold
you so tight the mountains crumble to the
deep and crystal clear sea.
If you needed the light,
I’d rope the sun-
If you needed tears,
I’d cry an ocean.
I say a silent prayer hoping I too can hear
just what I need to hear to let you go.
Release all the guilt and shame of feeling
I failed you beyond life’s comprehension.
For I am but a woman who craves your
tenderness...
and maybe, just maybe through our Lord
I can feel your embrace envelope me.
If you needed darkness,
I’d give you some space-
If you needed freedom,
I’d try to let you go.
I say a silent prayer hoping we can hear
each other through all the love only
Christ can bestow.
Please know, I never abandoned you,
but I just didn’t think I could save you
anymore than I already tried.
For I a but a woman starving for your
adoration-
someone who still needs you by my side.
If you needed faith,
I’d beg the Lord for hope-
If you needed me more,
I’d give you my very all.
These are the things I knew you needed-
yet I failed you in ways that couldn't be
rescued.
I say a silent prayer hoping you can hear…
