A Single Scarlet Rose
Upon your grave, I placed
a single scarlet rose.
And said goodbye to you,
it's my fault; heaven knows.
You begged, please let me stay,
yet I ignored your plea.
And pushing you away,
my anger watched you flee.
Raindrops pummeled your face
while the wind whipped your hair.
And as you crossed the road,
fate chose to be unfair.
A speeding car hit you;
now your ghost haunts my dreams.
And torments me nightly,
fueling nightmare screams.
I'm so sorry you died,
you deserved so much more.
But it's time I let go
and let your spirit soar.
