A Step Towards Heaven
A new day begins.
And I take another step towards heaven.
The ray of sun doesn’t always wake me up.
Sometimes, it’s the sound of thunder,
Or the chill that descends over me,
Or the warmth, that I precipitate.
I always don’t have the smile of calmness,
Ushering the joy and the contentment
That fills my bleak land with greenness.
Sometimes, I wake up to the sound of rain
And cogitate about how it never dies
I hear its rhythm and take in the smell
And how everyone’s thirst it satisfies.
Some days, I weep and breathe deep
When I open my eyes
I feel the thrust of my heart in my chest
In my head, the horrendous illusion I revise.
Many a times, I wish I don’t have to wake up
And I sleep for eternity
Better than awakening to dismay
I’d be veiled in complete serenity.
Or sometimes, there is hope and faith,
And cheerfully I chirp,
Or whirl and sway,
To the melody of love.
I always cannot smell rose,
Sometimes, something burns too.
But yet, I rise from my sleep,
And with the beginning of a new day,
I put a step forward into,
The future and towards the unknown,
I keep walking towards the heaven.
