A Summer Breeze
I’m all alone now he is gone,
but there’s a star to wish upon.
And as I wish, I feel a breeze
that whispers through the verdent trees
I listen to its murmuring,
then close my eyes, imagining
that I’m that breeze. Oh, silver star,
transform me; let me travel far!
To travel where my love might be -
Star, will you grant this wish to me?
Please guide me that I’ll find my way
to where my love has gone to stay.
Chorus:
A summer breeze, with tenderness
I’ll touch his face with my caress,
and while I’m lingering nearby,
he’ll hear the yearning in my sigh.
Yes, Star above me, hear my plea.
A summer breeze I long to be.
No star or moon with lovely glow.
I need to move; I need to flow.
His body and his precious face
I’ll wrap within my soothing grace.
The only man that I adore -
Star, let me touch him just once more.
A scent of jasmine I will bring.
Perhaps he’ll be remembering
perfume I wore when he was mine,
and love was simple yet divine.
Chorus:
A summer breeze, with tenderness
I’ll touch his face with my caress,
and while I’m lingering nearby,
he’ll hear the yearning in my sigh.
Repeat Chorus
Finale:
My touch, my scent, my lonesome sigh.
Oh, why did he ever have to say goodbye!
