Love Poem: A Thousand Years

A Thousand Years

My past hides like a shadow from me.
My past hides like a shadow from me
As I pass through this hallway of time.
The open doors of my memories
Lead to nothing but thine eyes.
Those sparkling ruby orbs
That never match well with mine.
The distant voice of honey that robs
My heart and my thoughts
For tens and thousands of years.
Through music this dance may have begun
But now I'm too old to recall the rhythm.
As I forget the warmth of thine arms
My body fails to react to the sound of your name.
This strange feeling of unfamiliarity
wraps it's claws around my neck and chokes me.
As I struggle to find your voice
Within this hellsite of memories.
