A Valentine Wedding
Flowers, sweet chocolates, and gifts of rings
I've never had reason to celebrate such things,
until that February day my true love did bring
Gifts wrapped in ribbons to make my heart sing.
It was on a blind date we first came face to face.
We didn't shake hands, but we shared an embrace.
He told me he loved my blue dress of French lace
A white rose at dinner, then asked me up to his place.
When someone is right for you it's apparent at first.
He became the cool water that quenched my thirst.
I waited for our first kiss, my lips patiently pursed,
I wasn't expecting my heart to explode and burst.
Twelve months flew by, and we're closer than ever.
A year spent with someone my heart will not sever.
I pray this love will exist between us forever.
The man I love is about to prove he's quite clever.
Today is February the fourteenth, and I know
he's planning some where special for us to go.
I'm sure his words will set my eyes aglow.
I've nestled him inside my heart. I love him so.
A candlelight dinner, a blue lace dress that clings.
Gifts wrapped in ribbons that made my heart sing.
A red rose on my plate, and a box with a ring,
My answer of "YES" to celebrate such lovely things.
We've just set the date to start our new life together.
On February fourteenth we may have chilly weather.
Bridesmaids in lavender dresses trimmed in feathers
and I will carry a bouquet of roses and heather.
