A Warrior Falls
A Warrior Falls
Love is that pain so sweet,
That it can knock you off your feet,
It can bring you to a knee,
Offering a marriage plea.
The toughest guy that ever was
Can be crushed by what a beauty does
To touch his heart, with her charms,
Slowly melting in her arms.
If he only knew his fate,
He would not participate
In a contest he can't win,
His own heart will do him in!
Like a moth, toward the flame,
He can't even recall his name,
Such is his tormentor's power,
That he gets weaker by the hour!
Samson was not the first one shaken
That all his strength had been taken
By a delightful little charmer,
Unsuspecting, he didn't don his armor!
Another casualty of Love,
Now he is meek as a dove.
His power was built upon the sand,
Swept away by her hand!
Sometimes, at night, he remembers,
That combat felt like burning embers,
Coursing through all his veins,
Now memories are all that remains!
He doesn't dwell on what he lost
He's more than thrilled to pay the cost
He used to fear Love when he'd near it,
Now it's in his entire spirit!
If he'd only known how pleasant being married,
He would not have felt so harried,
He would have done it in the past,
And hoped that it would ever last!
