You have been on my mind of late
And I am really not too sure why,
It has been such a long time gone
That we both cried and said good bye.
You went your way and I went mine
Our paths destined never again to meet
But I couldn’t stop the feelings
OH, the love we shared was sweet
You came from a different world
A world so apart from me
But it never stopped the love
I still believe love was the key
You in your world and me in mine
The distance so far apart
Who would have known or guessed
The love we both held in our hearts
But time and pain have healed us
You have a life not part of mine
And I hope you found happiness
And your life a lot better than mine.
I have not fared so well
I could not discover the way
To stop loving the way I agreed

I am old now and ready to go
