Afternoon's Shadows
Sunlight exposes herself
In long, narrow, afternoon shadows
Gold dust is shed from upon her skin
Typically unnoticed, typically unseen
Her wealthy abundance is embraced
By afternoon's luxurious kiss.
Her sleepy, twisted and tangled thoughts
Float in upon the tiniest and lightest of pleasures
Always there, but having gone unnoticed
Except on these long, sun-filled lazy afternoons
When love's embrace of these golden hours
Is no longer imaginary, but now unhidden.
Sunlight's eyes have exposed the hidden
The treasured magic in afternoon's shadows
The lightness of her being, is now exposed for all to see
Dust is made of dust, Lust is made of lust
Love exposed can no longer be
Hidden in afternoon's shadows.
