Love Poem: An Anniversary--

An Anniversary--

An Anniversary--

It was that day again, comes every year, and yet
             This year won’t be the same.. you’re dead, you’re not here;
And what joys must I adhere, Too!
Well I don’t know it was forty years ago today..
                                            You said I do
Yes you, after me asking you 3 times in 3 years, would you pivot my choice?
You think you might maybe want to marry me delicate was my voice
You looked into my soul, and your response was
But before you said yes , I blurted out NO not yet I was just kidding
That was just 40 years ago today
Favor I found favor with your kin
Nonverbal was the stature from my father
And to the allure added consolation to my mirage such allure
You see you never met mother for see had die on the day of our first date
Mother said on her death bed at once of the few phone calls you made
Seems to me such a sweet girl with a dulcet melodious voice
It was that day again, comes every year
And…. I remember well 9:30 am on a Wednesday we did wed
Happy Anniversary, my love, my dear
