An End To Love?
The End Of Love?
We said 'til death do us part,
But there is no end, nor any start,
Love has always been, and will always be,
Always been in Love, you and me!
How many times have we done
This, I'm guessing more than one,
How could we know each other so well,
If only from this briefest spell?
The answer is, and has to be,
We have been in Love eternally!
That makes sense, it fits the facts,
How else could we know each other's acts
Of loving service to the other,
Far beyond sister, or brother?
The things you do around the house,
Just for me, your loving spouse!
Before we married, I could see,
That you and I were meant to be,
I knew that I would find,
That we were of a common mind.
At some point, one of us will go,
But as I live, I always know,
That I will Love you past the end,
That you were always my best friend!
In Cosmic time, this life's a blink,
But I want you to think
Of how we'll find each other when,
Having gone, we'll meet again.
Our time spent here was a reward
For doing nothing untoward,
For loving, long and well,
We come now to death's knell.
Our time here may be getting short,
But I can truthfully report
That this was surely the best,
It overwrote all the rest!
Maybe that's how it's done,
Better each time, every one!
Give and take but what you're after,
But do not save your laughter!
I wish to state, before I go,
That I feel a happy glow,
You have made me very proud,
And made me laugh right out loud!
As we have ever been,
I know that we will be again,
As sure as there is a sky above,
We will ever be in Love!
