An Old Timer's Advice To Rash Young Lads
An Old Timer's Advice To Rash Young Lads
When youthful ardor flows like raging flood,
temptation's ills are waiting in the blood.
Even with painful lessons in the past,
nothing stops that hot-rush and cannons blast!
When Spring air brings out that deep mating call
some think of love desires, nary its fall.
Yet in youth falls come and oft with a shock,
like a swift cut, bare neck, head on the block!
The wise learn and control their emotions
love is work and not some magic potion.
Keep a level head and know love is real
not a treasure one can barter or steal!
When young love stirs two hearts, comes a'callin
Slow down, keep your head avoid the fallin'
