And My Life Is Pretty, O' It Is Just So Fine
And My Life Is Pretty, O' It Is Just So Fine
Lightning struck just as soon as I inked those words
Sorta of like a mountaintop fell on my head
But who the hell thinks we poets are for the birds
We drink loads of wine and do so butter our bread
Dawn told me stop being lazy, grab pen to write
My old heart was broken and life was a dark hole
Now I am not cowardly, was raised to fight
I am not like your bad ex-boyfriend that always stole
I walk a straight line, my six-guns fire with good aim
My spirit asks nothing but happiness and joy
Of course, I lost my farm but my horse is to blame
I put gold in a thrifty bank but it was a toy!
Now being true and straight, I walk a righteous line.
And my life is pretty, O' it is just so fine.
Robert J. Lindley, Sonnet

Note-
""And it is right now but it can turn on a dime.
As poet my number one job is to pen rhyme.
My gal she is so damn pretty and O' so fine.
We live our deep loving and on our love we dine.""
