Another Time Another Place
Another Time, Another Place
At another time, another place,
You and I would recline on a velour love seat,
Holding hands, watching TV under a wrap.
Another time.
Another time had love lasted,
We would walk around our sunset lake,
Kicking our Nikes like we used to do.
Another place.
There were the twinkling crow’s feet by your eyes,
Blue like the blue black lights in your hair.
The man I dreamed of in high school,
Another time.
Now under the moon, I remember you, when
You would throw back your head and laugh,
Then came the time that we were through,
Another time.
How did our infatuation fade away?
And bitter quarrelling enter in?
So long ago, though I will never forget the love
That lived in another time, another place.
