Love Poem: Appreciate the Small Things

Appreciate the Small Things

When you hold her tight,
do you smell her hair?
Does she scent of roses
and all things fair?

When she cries,
do you see the sadness,
the fear in her eyes—
past transgressions,
hurt, fear, lies?

Do you know who she is,
what makes her tick?
The small little freckles,
the whimsical tricks?

Appreciate the small things;
that’s what makes her real.
Your happiness is her happiness;
she makes you feel.
