As I Sit In My Car
I sit in my car
seeing your eyes behind my lids;
I can’t move;
It’s like I’m drunk on paradise;
Not a sip of liquid courage,
but I am feeling rather brave;
I know it’s time to tell you
even if it’s hard for me to take;
I don’t know when it started,
But I know I feel your glow;
Your sunshine radiates
everywhere you go;
The windows heat up
capturing my thoughts;
Yet I still can’t move,
frozen all over again.
As I stare into your eyes
you knock on my door
with a smile you’ve surprised me,
as I sit in my car.
