Azure Eyes

With chubby, rosy cheeks and azure eyes; my baby drifts into and out of sleep, staring up with a look of feigned surprise. He can't sleep no matter how hard he tries; sucking his thumb, not uttering a peep, with chubby, rosy cheeks and azure eyes. He holds my finger like a hard-won prize; a trophy he is determined to keep, staring up with a look of feigned surprise. His need for attention soon turns to cries; and breaking into tears, he starts to weep, with chubby, rosy cheeks and azure eyes. He settles down as soon as Mom arrives; as though he just awoke from counting sheep, staring up with a look of feigned surprise. Like a Devil in an Angel's disguise, he leaves his blankets in a tangled heap. With chubby, rosy cheeks and azure eyes; staring up with a look of feigned surprise.
