Bandet
I was ten when you first came into my life
You were not meant to be mine
Yet I was the only one you wondered to
The first rely think in my life
I could call mine
You were soft and silky
Milk and honey
When I was scared
With thunder games
I would hold you tight
Hide my face deep in your soft cot
You would just site in the bath rub with me
Pretending we were hiding from some great giant
With the passing years
We grow close
You became my best friend
A comfort when loneness became too much to bare
The place we went were filled with love
Yet as I was hear before you
You left before me
When a seizer took you from this world
With your sad eyes peering at me
I pulled you onto my lap
Held you like I did when puppy years kept you small
And as I tears fell from my eyes
Your tong gently licked them from my cheeks
Trying to even then comfort me
We took you to the vet
Tried all that money could buy
But you were in pain
Your soft brown eyes telling it all
I wanted to keep you
Selfishness rage out
Yet my hart could see the truth
So I held you while they took your pain away
When I die
I know you’ll be waiting for me
And together well look for Heavens gates
On this rode we may find a gat with no sings
The first will be graded by a man
Calming heavens gates
So we walk forward
But a hand stops us
“The dog must stay”
With your head pressed to my leg
I turn from this gate
“Don’t you want to enter heavens glory?”
As we turned no answer need to be given
For all dogs go to heaven
Heaven is with you
