Barbara Ione Popovits was her given maiden name
When we said “I do's”, and married, it would never be the same.

If you're wondering, who I am, I am Franklin Arthur Price
Writing this about our marriage, and I'm giving some advice

We were old enough for voting, old enough for drinking too
In the months that we were dating, I'd say we both imbibed few

We had both had bad relationships, that's why we started out as friends
Some of our old acquaintances, thought it would come to no good ends.

We were looking to the future when we took our wedding vows
All, in the past was gone, all the whens and wheres and hows

We would be a happy family, as would others we'd invite.
We would always kiss and make up, should we ever have a fight

ADVICE

Say, “I love you” when you think it, Think it several times a day.
Be there for one another, so those are words you want to say.

Share your thoughts and feelings for whatever comes your way
Do your best at satisfying, when at work, or when at play.

No matter the conditions, be faithful to the very end.
Nothing ever good can happen, if you're cheating your best friend.

Marriage should be fifty-fifty, at times you'll find it's ninety-ten
Work hard, and help your partner, to reach equality again.

No matter what may happen, persevere to make it best
Touch and comfort, one another, when you're lying down to rest.

I pray that as you've read this, you've seen some good long term advice
For me, it lasted half a century, not a throwing of the dice

Years have passed with love and honor. Barb has gone through Heaven's gate
I'll cherish her, through all eternity, she'll always be my loving mate.
