Blind Love
My life had become complete the day I met you.
I was alone in the hallways and in the cafeteria.
I am not alone, I have you.
Days and nights pass, the relationship grows bigger.
Our hello’s turned in to I love you’s.
You filled the empty space in my heart.
Slowly the relationship drifts apart.
The hello’s become more distant.
What happened to my life?
You made new friends and so I became alone.
You became popular, but still I am alone.
Something had separated us from each other.
No more late night talks.
No sharing snacks in class.
The usual daily routine when you weren’t there.
A phone call from a familiar number.
Not from her, but her parents.
She had died from cancer.
Tears run down my cheeks.
I arrived at her memorial.
One last look at her beautiful face.
More tears fill my eyes.
A note, addressed to me.
Something I wish not to forget.
“Dear Friend, I have left the earth with nothing more than a lesson learned. I learned to
trust. It was you who had changed my life completely. I didn’t forget our memories when we
were far. Every dream I had been of you. I never really left you, since you still have half my
heart. I love you. Thank you so much.”
That was the end of my life.
I learned to trust from her.
I never left her either, she always had the other piece of my heart.
