Butterflies and Marshes Mellow
When I look into your eyes
Butterflies I see
What a wonderful surprise
Butterflies are free
Like the dawning day’s gestation
Warms the willing wistful breast
Rising waves of expectation
Race to meet my fawning best
In the marsh a mellow feeling
Magnifies the morning yeast
Virgin lips are finally sealing
Summer’s supple sumptuous feast
Now the butterflies resplendent
Multiply in dreams of light
Promises to keep are pregnant
With each dizzy new delight
In the mood a marsh bird lingers
Expectations running high
Casually your tiny fingers
Wipe the tears of years gone by.
