By the Lake
The blithe breeze blew sweet scent
from vales where oft I went,
by the shore of the lake,
there we stood for your sake.
Did you feel the sheer bliss;
knew why I claimed a kiss?
Breathe in the whiff of balm,
A kiss and all were calm.
My muse was full of rhyme
It's all the spice of thyme,
for spring brings out its grace.
All is in its right place.
My love lurked in my mind,
My heart must burst and find
A verse on joy and glee
That showed the truth in me.
Hear the birds up in height
For now, they showed me light.
I wrote my thoughts neath trees,
then kissed in the light breeze.
