Carpe Diem
life or death
Oh, my children and grandchildren
Today I want to live the moment,
Tomorrow might never come.
See the good and the bad, hold your hand
And see the precious magic
In every smile at the present moment,
It might never happen the same again.
I desire to gaze upon all those faces I love,
Present study every soft and crinkle feature etched.
See every step as you walk and see the world.
I want to look into those eyes,
Hug oh so tight as I can, and say I love you.
Understand where each and every one of you are right now.
I want to sit and have a meal, savor every bite,
Have a wonderful conversation that will last forever.
Watch the day fade into the night.
Enjoying today for today, as you know it’s here now
Because tomorrow might never come.
