Clandestine Love
She was promised to another
Since practically her birth
An arranged marriage
Among royal families
No allowance for romance
In her life
Duty above all
Yet in the night
Hovered secrets so unbearable
And dreams that could never be
In truth she lived for
Each clandestine rendez-vous
And her heart was
Bestowed to the servant boy
The one she grew up with
So could never love another
As the years passed
And their bond grew stronger
It was the saddest love story
With whispered dreams of marrying
But a story most truly doomed
From the very start
