Cold Flame
I stand with a gaze as I feel my heart beat slowing to a crawl,
You stare in my eyes and see I'm suffocating as I put my back to the wall.
I heard you...your heart is a house for love and I've been invited,
You say I'm all you see and there is a flame between us waiting to be ignited.
You place your hand on my chest as you propose all the sensual deals,
You begin to kiss me as you think to yourself that you've almost got it sealed.
You opened yourself to me and now you're waiting for me to get sentimental,
Now...NOW I want you to stop lying cause the only thing you got aiming at my heart might
as well be a pistol.
You cried out at me telling me not to hurt you,
But you did it to me and expected for your past to justify you.
Everything about you should be recorded and stored for mythology,
I can't tell when you're being real so it's hard to accept your apology.
You can watch me burn inside and laugh when my pain is tearing me apart,
But you can't be honest and tell me your planned agenda you've had from the start.
While you move to the next they'll soon give you deja vu and it'll be me you'll want to
inquire,
Don't come around with that song cause Imma be tempted to set this whole city on fire.
I don't want to hear no sorries now that you realized you're the one to blame,
Cause one of the most painful burns is the one caused by cold blue flames.
I was there for you when you felt like no one was looking out for you from above,
But when I got a taste of it you looked down on me and showed me no love.
I'm talking to all the confused women who claim to want real men in their lives,
At least the ones I've dealt with cause what they say they want is obviously a lie.
