Come Stroll With Me
Come stroll with me as I grow old
and think of what you have been told
by all the people that you once did know.
Come slowly down the path with me
and take your time. Feel the rhyme
of life’s eternal touch around you.
I’m sure it will astound you.
From the dew upon the grass in early morn
to the moon at night, each time so newly born.
Walk with me in silence round the park
in light and dark,
do not break the silence with your words.
Listen to the birds, smell the breeze.
Watch the gentle wind blow through the trees,
sink into the earth on bended knees
to watch a flower grow. And know,
that you are as a lovely flower in my eyes.
Surely no surprise.
Come pass a summer day with me and count the stars at night
and in the light of stars above I’ll speak to you of how I love.
You may not understand at first
the thirst I have for life and love and you, Few do.
So many people haven’t got a clue.
But walk along the glade with me;
and talk beneath the shade with me
Tell me of your love so I may understand
the good of all I feel each time you’re near
you erase my fear.
Perhaps the love we speak and share
will take us to a lifetime where
our hearts entwine, our souls embrace,
and we will come to understand
and know this gifted grace.
