Conditions Being What They Are
Conditions Being What They Are
by Rick Rucker
Conditions being what they are,
We must visit each other by car.
Which doesn't truly slake my thirst,
And the cold, dark nights are the worst!
I long to "spoon" in bed with you,
Holding you, the long night through.
Ah, but such is not the case,
Except in sunlight, I can't see your face.
In my belly is a fire,
Our relationship is a reverse vampire!
Do you suppose our lives would end,
If the night, with me, you would spend?
The living arrangements are tough, it's true,
But I know you know, that I love you.
Very soon I will fix this yearning,
No more will my Heart be burning.
Not long before I wake up to find,
The One that has soothed my mind
Lying right next to me,
Up until Eternity!
