Love Poem: Done

Done

I give up.
Love is dead.
Is it all a figment of my imagination?
Why put myself through hurt and pain?
A marriage is like a degree; it's just a piece of paper.
What is love when it counts?
Is it living through an unsatisfactory life?
Is it holding it all in with a silent cry?
Why even try?
Why go the distance?
People will gaslight you and change you into someone different.
Go into something all Googly eyes, then come out like what the just happened.
What is love?
What is true love?
It seems it's nothing but games and ghosting.
Make yourself all vulnerable, all to be stomped on. What is love? It is just the biggest fallacy ever invented. To give false promises and then make horrible compromises.
What do you do?
I say just it.
 them and yourself anyway. Haha
No, but really, lose interest in romantic relationships. Lose any expectations. People change, and failure will be knocking anyway.
Stay with your peace of mind.
Be authentic and keep kind.
You can still walk in a heart space and still say romantic relationship.
You see, your ideal partner will not be rooted in reality.
It is just lumerance anyway, a fight of your imagination.
Well, at least you know your mind is very creative, full of possible beautiful stories. Remember, though, stories will never manifest, at least for many with so-called "ideal" romance. Humans are complex creatures anyway.
The devil has a way of showing the truth in all of it.
Hindsight, it was all bondage and illusions that chipped your heart bit by bit.
Take care.
