Don'T Expect
Unfortunately being
an activist, I need to
sacrifice; my heart bleeding.
May be can’t bring bliss to you
in this life; love never
for me, it's useless thought.
I'm fighting on principles
against the age old custom;
Can't hope to see miracles
in their acts, it's disgusting.
Don't expect much better
prospect than what we got.
Telling truth brought enemies;
Know, they are sick mentally;
I'll fight with such enemy;
Yes, may harm from jealousy.
In this life love never
for me, it's useless thought.
Don't expect much better
prospect than what we got.

Poetic Form :: Villancico
The villancico hails from Spain, and is a (largely forgotten) forerunner of the villanelle.
There are three stanzas, and last two lines of the first and second stanzas are both repeated at the end of the third. In fact, whole couplets are repeated.
The rhyming scheme is quite demanding, with 6 of the 8 lines of the third stanza required to rhyme with one another 7-syllable lines seem to be standard, except in the two refrains, which both use 6-syllable lines
