Doubt Is a Shadow
We keep from saying tender words leaving no clues
that can't bond us forever like Crazy Glue,
letting us loose in an empty space of blue...
where our thoughts can change unpredictable moods!
Doubt is a shadow..
that long trail we ignore when eyes are aglow
and picking up flowers something seems to grow;
it can't be other than love, the same love others know...
see our hands squeeze watching the flight of a shallow!
Doubt is a shadow
we step on, not considering what it means, or where it may lead;
we'll find out what lies ahead when hurt becomes hearts that bleed.
In the years that will come, we'll go on loving,
cherishing what we are living and laughing
we'll ignore that doubt is a shadow
as we hug and dream under a willow!
Doubt is a shadow...foretelling of heartbreaks to come,
is this what we want, never realizing what could be?
Ah, tomorrow we may not stand here and make love!
Doubt is a shadow that we feel and choose not to see!
