Downhearted
I sat on a bench beneath the willow tree,
A bit far from home, sadly I had to be.
My wife and I had a tiff, I was annoyed,
Downhearted I felt, all my calm was destroyed.
Dark clouds covered the sky as the sun was hid.
So I trudged towards my house, I went unbid.
Downhearted and so annoyed I still remained,
My heart had to solve for my virtue was stained.
On the lawn, I saw narcissus everywhere,
Quickly I cut a small bunch with utmost care.
Such lovely yellow flowers with fragrance sweet
I gave them to her, she made our life complete.
No idle discussions, she was to decide.
She gave me a cuddle, my joy I couldn't hide.
