Dust
I will not weep when I finally bid you farewell
My eyes will be as dry as the sands of the Sahara
as cement under the blazing summer sun
as brittle brown leaves in autumn
crunching and crumbling under your feet
What purpose would it serve?
Not a single tear I’ve ever shed
has brought back to life
anyone dear to me who is now dead
or converted scorn to care
in the hearts of they who have
harbored hatred for me
or led any I’ve ever loved to return it
I will simply silently and solemnly
fade away into dust
dispersing in the air
unnoticed
