Love Poem: Elegy - Loss of Love

Elegy - Loss of Love

"Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard but always near, still loved, still missed and dear." Quote by _Alex Maclean, Canadian Author
We found love unbidden on a pretty day, a quiet girl and a handsome man; it seems so, so long ago my dearest love, now, all I have are memories. I invited you to my beloved attic apartment, you gathered me in your arms; our first kisses were tender and quite unsure, you brought me trinket gifts. Gifts, I keep in old trunks secret from the world, they laid red roses on your grave; but, I bring you lilacs in Spring because I know, that you loved them the best. I cry, my love for what could have been our life, for the loss of a wonderful man; I cry, that you died too young to live your dreams, and for lost dreams I now keep, I cry.
